Mamavation Monday: Up & Down

Mamavation buttonIt’s another Mamavation Monday, and this one’s sort of bumming me out.  Last week was a bad week.  I was cranky, hormonal, too busy, and I slowly let my eating get worse and worse.  I still got a decent amount of exercise in… but the rest was bad.  On Thursday I had a brownie sundae at the mall, followed by a soft pretzel with sweet mustard dip.  On Friday I ordered pizza rolls for lunch.  On Saturday I followed a fast food lunch with overeating at a birthday party.  I didn’t exercise Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.  I did get my eating back under control on Sunday, but the damage had been done.

For the first time in a long time, I gained.

Starting weight: 225

Previous weight: 186.6

Current weight: 188.4

Gained: 1.8lbs

Total lost: 36.6lbs

I’m bummed, and I’m having a hard time feeling motivated to get back on track.  I know I need to.  I know I will… but I am worried about how long it might take me.  Between the frustration of gaining, the stomach issues from bad food choices, and hormones, I am really not feeling like trying today.  I want to eat poorly.  I want to sit around.

Instead, I will try VERY hard to use this as motivation:

Size 12 dressThat’s me, yesterday, in a SIZE 12 DRESS.  In December I was wearing an 18.  So I’m making that picture the background on my laptop and hoping it can keep me on track until I feel it coming naturally again.

Here are today’s measurements:

left arm-13.5
right arm-13.5
chest-39
bellybutton-37.25
hip-44
left thigh-23.5
right thigh-23.5

Total: .5 off my chest, .5 off my stomach, 1 of each thigh since starting Move it & Lose it!

  • That dress look FANTASTIC on you! I love it! You look great. You know, after watching Rachel’s vlog, I realized that there are a LOT of things that can contribute to a gain.

    Yeah, so you didn’t do so great this week, love.. but that dress… that would totally be motivation enough for me to STAY IN IT!!! IT looks sooo good on!

    Look back on this week at all of the decisions you made, and change them around to positive decisions.

    You’re going to do great! Put the past behind you and look forward to a better week!

    The fact that your recognize your in a “down” slump is good. Because you know what you need to do to get back “up”. You can do this, focus on the future, not the past! Your doing so good, look at all the weight you HAVE lost!!!!

  • (((hugs))) Be kind to yourself. Feel your feelings and see what it is that *really* feeds you. What are you wanting or missing in your life that is causing you to want to fill the void with food? Are you taking care of your needs? Getting some me time? Try to figure out your true need and then work towards meeting that. You are doing great & There is nothing wrong with you! Don’t forget it! :)

  • No biggie… you fell off the wagon… just dont let it drive so far away that you cant catch it!

    You didn’t become a size 18 over night and one week of bad eating shouldn’t keep you from your over all goals…

    So get back on that horse and do the best you can! Good luck!!!

  • This happens to me too, so don’t feel alone like you are the only one. This road is never an easy one, but it’s a good one. I just tell myself to suck it up and I exercise anyway, and then the food is easier to do when I’ve exercised that day. I’m more likely to crave what is good for me. XXOO

  • Girl, that dress is so cute on you. Like the others said, look at how far you’ve come. Don’t let a lil ole gain get you down! BTW, were we supposed to post measurements? If so, oops. I didn’t do that.

  • I am glad you are focusing on the big picture so that you are not being too hard on yourself. Overall you are doing GREAT, you did slip up this past week. Now make this current week fantastic!
